The Republic of Bashkortostan also known as Bashkiria. It is located between the Volga River and the Ural Mountains. Its capital is the city of Ufa. Population: 4,072,292 (2010 Census). Bashkortostan is the largest republic in Russia with a population of 4.1 million.
